HISTORY:

In 1941, Fred Moose incorporated the senior Company of the Gibson Montreal group that has grown into the dynamic, internationally recognised ship broking company of today. During these eighty years of history Gibson has been through several incarnations. The first major change was the replacement of the Reford Company interests in the E.A.Gibson (Hunting Group, U.K.) who controlled Gibson Montreal by those of H.Clarkson and those of RS.Platou. By the late fifties, Gibson, Clarkson and Platou became the owners of Gibson Montreal. Such an organisation did not go unnoticed by brokers of the time, thus Gibson attracted a first rate group of British and Canadian talent. The company was so successful that, in 1978, the senior Canadian employees got together to buyout the European shareholders, and at the same time expand the company's interest into agency. Fourteen years later, one of the former company directors purchased one hundred per cent of the Company and amalgamated it with Canadian & Global to form Gibson Canadian & Global Inc. The present evolution comprises Rainer Bollhorn, Clive Seacombe and James Wereley as partners. The agency department is headed by Freddy Naim.
